This is actually a really good movie.
Madonna is living-breathing-walking symbolism.
There's this whole class struggle thing.
There's this male-dominance / female-submissive thing.
There's the whole power dynamic switcharoo plot thing.
I get it, man. I get it. I just think post-9/11 2002 America wasn't ready for this Guy Ritchie movie after such a smash critical success like 'Snatch' and 'Lock Stock...' And, in retrospect, Madonna may have been the worse thing that ever happened to Guy Ritchie's creative drive. But you can't change the past. Things are as they are. As for 'Swept Away'? Pretty good.
