Make Art Everyday

If you're a writer, this means putting pen to paper (or fingertips to keyboard)

every single day.

For the filmmaker, this means making your movie

every single day.

There is no such thing as writer's block.

Do not believe your ideas are so important that divine inspiration must strike first.

No no no.

That's not art.

That's exercising self-indulgence.

Your ideas become important the moment you discard the idea they're important.

Just make art every day.

But wait!

That's only the first step.

There's one more important part in the process:

Going public with the artwork.

"Shipping it" as Seth Godin calls it.

Connecting with the audience.

The art you made now must go out into the world.

To live.

To die.

To fend for itself.

To be tossed around.

To be discovered.

To connect unconnected people.

To inspire.

To deliver the message.

This is the moment an inactive product of one's creation becomes A WORK OF ART.
